German Ambassador, KfW & GIZ Representatives Visited Dhulikhel Hospital

Dhulikhel Hospital was honored to welcome H.E. Mr. Udo Eugen Volz, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Nepal, along with representatives from KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau), GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), and other distinguished guests.
During the visit, the delegation inaugurated the new Healthcare Waste Management Treatment Site with Autoclave System at Dhulikhel Hospital. Supported through the German Development Cooperation’s health sector programme, this initiative strengthens environmentally sound healthcare waste management practices and promotes safer treatment of infectious healthcare waste, helping protect healthcare workers, patients, surrounding communities, and the environment.

The visit also marked the launch of the Rooftop Solar Project at Dhulikhel Hospital, financed by the German Government through KfW. The project will provide a 500-kW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System with Battery Energy Storage, enhancing the reliability of electricity supply for critical healthcare services while supporting the hospital’s commitment to sustainable and climate-resilient healthcare.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Government of Germany, KfW, GIZ, and all our valued partners for their continued support and collaboration in strengthening healthcare services and sustainable development in Nepal.
Better Energy. Better Healthcare. Better Tomorrow.
