Workshop on Non-pharmacological Pain Management During Labor

A one day workshop on Non-pharmacological pain Management during labor was conducted by the 2nd Batch students of Bachelor in Midwifery on 18th of August, 2022. 42 participants who were Midwifery students and OBGYN staffs participated in the program.

The objectives of the program were

  • To enhance the normal physiological birth of the newborn
  • To promote the health of the women and newborn
  • To update the knowledge on non-pharmacological pain management during labor
  • Partial fulfillment of the Bachelor in Midwifery program

The skills session of the program were conducted in the simulation lab of Dhulikhel hospital. The skills sessions focused on

  • Positioning and use of birth bed
  • Massage
  • TENS
  • Pressure and
  • Breathing technique
